Wayanad landslides: 5 from Karnataka among victims

Monster landslides which struck Wayanad early Tuesday have left five persons from Karnataka, including a 19-year-old girl, dead. Three persons from KR Pet taluk are battling for life due to injuries suffered in the tragedy, and the number of victims is expected to go up as many are still missing.
Shreya, from Ukkalagere in T Narsipur taluk of Mysuru district, was found dead in the Wayanad rubble, and her last rites were conducted at Meppadi cemetery, authorities said.

The other four deceased have been identified as Rajendra, 50, Rathnamma, 45, (both from Irasavadi village in Chamarajanagar taluk), Puttasiddashetty, 62, and Rani, 50, from Chamarajangar district.
The three critically injured persons have been identified as Jhansi, husband Anil and her father Devaraju. The trio is being treated at a Wayanad hospital. Jhansi's son Nihal, who is two years old, and mother-in-law Leelavathi are reported missing.
